Featured video: Clay Shirky on non-profits (intv: Amy Sample Ward)

Sharing another video here – it’s a few months old but entirely relevant to both the current UK Coalition Government talk of Big Society, and also Labour Party leadership contender David Miliband‘s ideas of reconnecting the local to a bigger ideological movement.

The brilliant Amy Sample Ward interviews heavyweight contemporary thinker, writer and lecturer Clay Shirky – and asks him where non-profits can fit into this brave new world of internet-democratised connectedness. Clay talks in terms of harnessing the social web to harvest local people’s investment; independent of the ‘bigger’ movement – but in tune with it.
